ASTRONOMY EXPO

Since the launch of Sputnik in 1957 which paved the way to space exploration, many countries and space agencies have invested a lot of time and infrastructure in space research. One question that arises when we see the huge investment is why space research and exploration?

Two Major Reasons

One, the Industrial Revolution and the technological growth in recent centuries have brought the world closer than ever with its infrastructure, technology and developments.

Let’s say 500 years ago, two cities, Bengaluru and Chennai separated by vast land and river were disconnected from each other in terms of trade and travel. Both the places sustained independently with their own limited resources. As the technology improved the distant lands were connected by roads, airways resulting in the exchange of culture, knowledge, food grains, goods and raw materials in making a better place along with the growing technology. Today, the two cities are dependent on each other on many resources because of the connectivity brought by technology. The connectivity if lost makes these two cities difficult to sustain independently and technology is being upgraded to hold the connectivity strong and update regularly. Similarly, the technology that connected two cities also connected two nations, two continents separated by land and oceans. In the next 50 or 100 years, the technological progress that connected two countries is able to take us to connect two distant worlds.

It is not far where connectivity may exist between Earth and Mars and leads to an exchange of new resources, minerals and new discoveries and comes to the point where two planets will be dependent on each other and cannot sustain on their own as a planet. Just like in the case of Bengaluru and Chennai, Earth and Mars will be dependent on each and is difficult to sustain on their own. A similar case which we have learned from history and today where two places are dependent on each other for knowledge, technology and resources. Hence there is a need for investment in research and development in space to sustain today and build tomorrow.

Second Reason

Secondly, the technological boom enabled us to reach higher into space and distant planets by sending rockets, and satellites. These technological advancements parallelly gave rise to a better lifestyle with information reaching our hands through smartphones. The world we know revolves around the small object in our hands through the internet. The satellites that enable us to predict and understand the planet as we see it also develop better communication between individuals across the globe. Space research and development, a multibillion dollar agency not only helped us understand our stance in the universe but also governed the economics of a country with its influence on education, health and communication sectors.

“Space has the ability to produce a triple bottom line, or ROIII: Return on Investment, Innovation, and Inspiration.”
- Robert C. Jacobson.

The future of space research and exploration aims at discovering new places, resources and making the Earth sustainable. Various space administration organizations and agencies are investing a lot of time and money by sending rovers, voyagers into deep space and to other planets in search of answers and resources. The future may hold the key in bridging the connectivity between the worlds like present technology that connected people across the globe. Space organizations such as NASA, ISRO have already launched projects to study Mars which is a first step in establishing a connection to our neighboring planet.

Millennials, the bright new generation who are eager to explore space research and developments will be provided a platform to enrich their curiosity by Astronomy Expo.

Astronomy Expo is a 2 ½ hours science program on astrophysics for 4th grade to 10th grade students studying in State and Central school boards. The program is aimed at bringing studies on astrophysics and new technologies to students in an innovative and engaging way.

India at the top 10 places in world space research is catching up the space exploration race in more efficient ways. Many countries are investing time and infrastructure to create interest in the young minds and their involvement in the area of research and inventions by conducting many practical astronomy activities. This calls for the initiation in our country to bring students closer and provide opportunities in creating new innovative ideas and inventions for the development of our country in space technology and several fields.

OUR ASTRONOMY PROGRAM

This Astronomy program makes students delve into science and understand the need for research and inventions for our own. With this initiative, Innonxt aims at building a platform for students to indulge in various science projects and showcase their talents building a better tomorrow.

This versatile program about the Universe is beyond conventional learning. As a part of 21st Century skills, knowledge about science & technology, particularly space science have emerged as one of the top knowledge quest areas, to satisfy the need to explore conducting various programs.

Real time simulation and sky observation

The right time to sky observation is at night. However, it is difficult to gather students at night in the school and watch the sky by having few telescopes to accommodate all the students at the same time. It is because of ‘Astronomy Expo’ with its advanced software developed by advanced space organizations enables every student to observe the night sky.

The software converts the day into nighttime and presents an opportunity to watch the sky for all the students at a time with both eyes comfortably during school hours on a 6 x 8 big screen. It is equal to looking at a planet through an 18 inches diameter telescope. Through an effective sound system, the students can hear the natural sound of the planet’s atmosphere recorded by NASA.

The Telescope model will be shown to students and is explained its usefulness in observing celestial objects (moon, planets, stars, etc.) which are very away from the earth.

Graphical presentation of astronomy with 4D.

The students can see and understand the inner parts of all the planets in the 4D presentation. This graphical presentation enables students to understand and learn about the inner core, outer core, other various layers and availability of the materials of a planet in a more enthusiastic way.

Interaction with scientists, researchers.

The program provides an opportunity to bring scientists and students together through interactive sessions. Interested and curious students get to discuss all their ideas and queries through a live video conference with researchers, scientists from reputed institutions and organizations.

3D movie show about astronomy with 3D glasses.

At end of this educational and space informative program, a 3D movie about space and scientific information is shown to students with the use of Nvidia 3D glasses.

At the end of the Astronomy Expo EXPLORE program, the students get to view the sky through an upgraded 5 feet height and 12 inches diameter Telescope. This telescope can be used to watch Saturn and its rings. The telescope will be given to school management to use on important occasions such as solar eclipse, lunar eclipse, Super Moon, Blue Moon, Red Moon, planets transits, constellations, stars, comets and many other cosmic activities. Information’s and guideline will be given through emails and WhatsApp messages.
